On 25th September 2008 over 200 excited Twitter fans gathered at Doon in London for the first ever Twestival. *It rocked*. We raised lots of £cash£ for The Connection and had an overwhelming response from everyone that came (check out the blog love). Two great excuses to do it all again

Four months down the line, Obama is President, Jonathan Ross returns to the BBC, and Twitter has gone mainstream. Woop! Time for a party.  The London team started planning and before we could say ‘Tweet’ over one hundred cities around the world wanted a piece of the Twestival action too. You know what that means, right…

LONDON KNOWS HOW TO PARTYYYY!!

We are pretty excited and with good reason. We fully intend to recreate the raucous energy of the first Twestival with free drinks, awesome prizes, cool Twitter celebs, and a number of fundraising projects. We are extremely pleased to be supporting charity:water, a non-profit organization bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations. That’s right - we want to turn Wine into Water…

Like last time, the event is fully sponsored with an open bar and free goodies -  so we hope you’ll give a little back through engaging the various projects we’re putting on to raise money for charity. We will shortly be posting details for a Twestival T-shirt design competition. We are also working with Soundcloud on an exciting online music project - musicians should follow @twestivalfm to be kept in the loop.

Where & When?

The event itself will takes place on 12th February 2009 and is hosted at fabulous new venue near Old Street called Shoreditch Studios. The space holds around 500 people, and (yee-ha!) IT HAS WI-FI!! Tickets will be on sale from Wed 21 Jan at £5 a piece (this money is a direct donation to charity: water).

There is no dress-code, the only requirement is that you’re an active Twitter user. Just come along and share the love! Why not start by following some of the organizers?
